OUR STORY
Mahad Zaman
Mahad, born to Hamna and Adil in the quaint town of Islamabad, like Wardah, was raised during his early years in the Middle East. Hamna and Adil, both Islamabad residents and having lived in Karachi moved to the tinsel town, Dubai where Mahad did most of his schooling. Football, rugby and play station were Mahad’s initial sports, that transitioned in to a passion for gym as Mahad entered his teens. After his ‘A’ levels from Jumeirah English Speaking School in Dubai, Mahad went for his undergraduate studies to Richard Ivey school at the University of Western Ontario. As God aligns stars, both Wardah and Mahad having moved from different countries ended up being in the same program, at the same university, and at the same time. It gets interesting, as they never got to know each other well, while at university.
Mahad graduated from university and moved to Toronto, working with an EY competitor, RSM, and subsequently moved to KPMG.
Both Wardah and Mahad met through mutual friends, and that’s where the acquaintance started, which turned into friendship leading to a commitment to spend their lives together.
A soft-spoken young man with a caring personality, Mahad is particularly possessive of his girl, who he proposed like a true gentleman, on his knees and with a sparkling ring, to which she could only say ‘YES!'.
May Allah protect this beautiful couple from evil eyes and may they live happily ever after.
The Groom
Wardah Hammad
The Bride
Wardah was born to Nazia & Hammad in Jeddah, as the then young couple had just moved to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia from Lahore. As their firstborn, Wardah brought immense joy & happiness to the lives of Nazia & Hammad. Being the first grandchild from maternal side and the firstborn to the only son of Hammad’s parents, Wardah’s birth and ensuing years were nothing but full of love and affection from both sides of the family. After spending a few years in Saudi cities of Jeddah, Riyadh and Khobar, the Hammad family ultimately settled on the island Kingdom of Bahrain. Wardah got her elementary education at St. Chris, a British curriculum school in Bahrain. Whilst in Bahrain, she took keen interest in playing tennis, swimming and horse riding. She grew up in happy surroundings with her two siblings, Rania (an almost twin, being 15 months apart) and baby brother Afraz, almost four and a half years younger to Wardah.
As life advanced, Wardah and the family moved to Toronto, where she finished high school at Mentor College and went on to graduate as an HBA (Honours in Business Administration) graduate from Richard Ivey school at University of Western Ontario. At Uni, Wardah found her passion in accounting & finance and pursued the path of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), starting her career at one of big four accounting firms. Today, Wardah is an accomplished young woman, working at Ernst & Young in Toronto.
Wardah has an endearing personality with a heart of gold. She is a loving daughter, a thoughtful sister and a true and genuine friend. She has inherited a caring nature from her mom, a love for animals from her maternal grandmother, and a passion for gym & fitness from her dad. She is her parents’ darling indeed, though ready to transition to Mahad’s soulmate.
